Ask InfraScout About InfraScout

October 13, 2026 · InfraScout Team

Ask the AI how to put the Linux agent behind a proxy, which Graph permissions onboarding grants, or what changed in last week's release, and it now looks the answer up in this documentation before replying. The answer cites the page it came from, so you can open the source and read on.

Until now, a question about InfraScout itself got whatever the model had picked up in training. That is months old at best, and InfraScout ships every week. The model could describe a setting that has since been renamed, miss a feature that shipped yesterday, or invent a flag that sounds right. Now it reads the same pages you would.

Two New Tools

Documentation Search adds two tools. docs_search finds the sections of the documentation and the blog that match a question, whether you phrase it in the docs' terms or your own. docs_fetch then reads a whole page when a snippet is not enough, such as a full installation procedure or every option in a table. You can limit a search to the blog when the question is about what is new.

The index is rebuilt every time this site is published, so a post like this one is searchable minutes after it appears.

In Chat and in Your MCP Client

In Claude and other MCP clients, the tools appear with the rest of the InfraScout catalog. In the portal's Chat they make up a new built-in Documentation tool group, which everyone can use by default. It is not loaded into every conversation. The AI picks it up when you ask about InfraScout itself, so conversations that never do pay nothing for it. Administrators can scope it under Tool Groups like any other group.

Reference, Not Instructions

Both tools read only InfraScout's own documentation. They do not touch your agents, your tenant or your findings. The documentation is full of commands, and the AI treats them as reference: it explains or adapts one for you, but does not run a command from the docs on an agent unless you ask it to.
