Interrupted Chat Responses Now Continue on Their Own

September 26, 2026 · InfraScout Team

A long assessment turn can run for many minutes: the AI reads inventory, runs commands on a dozen hosts, and pieces the answer together from what comes back. When a brief interruption on our side cut such a turn off, the partial answer was saved, but you were asked to resend your message. Resending started the whole turn again, including every command it had already run.

That no longer happens. An interrupted response now continues by itself.

What you see

When a response is cut off, a Response interrupted — continuing… notice appears in the open conversation, and a moment later the AI carries on from where it stopped. It keeps everything it had already gathered, so the commands that already ran are not run again from the top. In the transcript, a Response interrupted — continued divider marks where the answer was picked back up, so you can always tell that something happened mid-answer.

You don't need to do anything. If you had the conversation open in several tabs, exactly one of them continues the response and the others follow along. If you had closed the tab, opening the conversation again within about ten minutes continues it then.

A command caught mid-flight is checked first

The one delicate moment is a command that was still running on a host when the interruption hit. It may well have finished there. Rather than letting the AI assume it failed and run it again, InfraScout tells the AI that the command may have completed and should be verified first. For a read, that costs one quick check. For anything that changes a host, it is the difference between one change and two.

You stay in control

A continuation never overrides you. Pressing Stop or sending a new message cancels a pending continuation, and while one is pending, Retry and send are held back so that a second response cannot start alongside it.

A response you stopped yourself is never continued automatically. It is now clearly marked Stopped before the answer finished., rather than appearing as an empty reply. The same note stays on a response that was found too late to continue, or that was interrupted several times in a row, and you can resend it whenever you are ready.
