You Will Know About Maintenance Before It Happens

August 17, 2026 · InfraScout Team

We operate the InfraScout platform, which means we occasionally take it down to work on it. Until now the only way you found out was by noticing.

A planned maintenance window now announces itself in the portal. A notice appears at the top of your dashboard up to a week ahead, carrying the window, an optional note from us about what is happening, and a countdown. You can dismiss it.

It changes tone when the work starts

Ahead of the window, the notice is informational — it tells you something is coming and counts down to it. The moment the window opens, it turns to a warning and stays that way until the end time passes, at which point it disappears on its own. There is nothing to acknowledge and nothing to clear.

The countdown ticks live. That sounds like a detail, but it decides whether the notice is useful: a strip that says "in 3 days" and never updates is a strip you stop reading.

Times are yours, not ours

The window renders in your own timezone with the zone name beside it, because a maintenance window is a wall-clock appointment rather than a duration. If you are in Vienna and we are working at 22:00 UTC, the notice says 00:00 — your midnight, not ours.

One consequence is worth calling out. A window that crosses your local midnight carries the end date explicitly, so 22:00 – 00:00 cannot be misread as ending the same evening. That is the exact ambiguity that makes people plan around the wrong night.

A window is not an outage

Most maintenance is invisible from where you sit. The notice is there so that if something does behave oddly during a window, you know whether to report it or wait — not to tell you InfraScout will be unavailable.

If a window looks badly timed for your engagement, tell us. Reach us at info@infrascout.cloud.
