Live Status for Slow Cloud Queries

Some cloud queries take a moment. A Defender advanced hunting query over a wide time range, a tenant cost report, a large list page — these can run for several seconds before they return. Until now, those calls showed up in the execution view only once they finished, which left an uncomfortable gap: the AI had clearly started something, but nothing on screen confirmed it was running. This update closes that gap.

You can see slow calls while they run

Cloud queries now write a live status row the moment a call crosses into "this is taking a while" territory. While the query is in flight, the execution view shows it as a running row — the same pulsing indicator agent commands already use — so you get immediate confirmation that work is underway. When the query returns, that row updates in place to completed or failed. Nothing is duplicated and nothing is lost; the same row that told you the call was running tells you how it ended.

Fast queries are unchanged. The vast majority of cloud calls finish in well under a second, and those still appear as a single completed row exactly as before. The live running row is reserved for the genuinely slow queries — the ones where the only real question is "is this still working, or is it stuck?" Now the answer is on screen.

Better feedback, no setup

There is nothing to configure and nothing to turn on. This applies across InfraScout's cloud tools automatically, so any slow cloud query — advanced hunting, cost reporting, large list operations — benefits from the live status without any change to how you run an assessment. The result is simply better feedback: when the AI reaches for a heavy cloud query mid-investigation, you can watch it run and know the assessment is moving.
